Dough Preparation

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

Once the yeast mixture is frothy, pour it into the flour mixture along with the olive oil. Mix until a dough starts to form.

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Shape Knots
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope (about 10 inches), then tie it into a knot.

Place the knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
