Meatballs Preparation
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 2
Form Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 2 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Bake Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.
Marinara Sauce Preparation
- 4
Sauté Onions and Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 5
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the marinara sauce. Let them simmer together for another 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Serving
- 7
Serve
Serve the meatballs in marinara sauce over spaghetti or on a sub roll for meatball sandwiches. Garnish with additional grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley if desired.
