Rim the edge of a chilled glass with lime juice and dip it in salt to coat the rim.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the blanco tequila, genepy, grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice.

Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and float the star anise on top.
