Sushi Rice

Method

Prepare Sushi Rice

  1. 1

    Cook Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine with water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 2

    Season Rice

In a small saucepan, heat rice vinegar, sugar, and salt over low heat until dissolved. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and fold in the vinegar mixture. Let it cool to room temperature.

Prepare Tuna Filling

  1. 3

    Mix Tuna

In a bowl, combine diced tuna, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sriracha. Mix gently and set aside.

Prepare Wasabi Mayo

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and wasabi paste until well combined.

Assemble Handrolls

  1. 5

    Roll Handrolls

Place a sheet of nori on a clean surface or bamboo mat. Wet your hands to prevent sticking, then grab a handful of sushi rice and spread it over the nori, leaving the top edge clear. Add a spoonful of the tuna mixture, a few slices of avocado, and serrano chili. Drizzle with wasabi mayo and sprinkle with ginger furikake. Roll it up tightly, starting from the bottom, and serve immediately.
