For the Calamari and Shrimp
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Coating
In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- 2
Coat the Seafood
Toss the calamari rings and shrimp in the flour mixture until they are evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 4
Fry the Seafood
Carefully add the coated calamari and shrimp to the hot oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 5
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried seafood with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with lemon wedges and garnish with fresh parsley.
