Toppings (optional)

Method

Prepare the Cheese Base

  1. 1

    Soften the Cream Cheese

In a mixing bowl, add the 8 oz of cream cheese. Let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes to soften.

  2. 2

    Mix in Remaining Cheese

Once softened, add the 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup of shredded Monterey Jack cheese, and 1 cup of sour cream. Mix thoroughly until well combined and smooth.

Add Flavor Enhancers

  1. 3

    Incorporate Spices and Jalapeños

Add the diced jalapeños (to taste), 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp of onion powder, 1 tsp of cumin, 1 tsp of cayenne pepper, 0.5 tsp of salt, and 0.5 tsp of black pepper to the cheese mixture. Stir well until evenly distributed.

Heat the Dip

  1. 4

    Transfer to Baking Dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the cheese mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly.

  2. 5

    Bake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the dip is lightly golden on top.

Garnish and Serve

  1. 6

    Add Toppings

Once baked, remove the dip from the oven. Optionally, top with chopped green onions, fresh cilantro, and sliced black olives.

  2. 7

    Serve Warm

Serve the cheese dip warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced vegetables for dipping.
