Mochi Donut Ingredients

Method

Mochi Donut Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Batter

In a large mixing bowl, combine sweet rice flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted coconut oil until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix until a thick, smooth batter forms.

  4. 4

    Preheat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Make sure there's enough oil for frying the donuts.

  5. 5

    Shape the Donuts

Using a donut mold or piping bag, shape the batter into donut forms. If using a piping bag, pipe into rounds.

  6. 6

    Fry the Donuts

Carefully place the shaped donuts into the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Drain and Cool

Remove the donuts from oil and let them drain on paper towels. Allow them to cool slightly.

  8. 8

    Prepare the Glaze

In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with water until smooth. If desired, add food coloring for a fun touch.

  9. 9

    Glaze the Donuts

Dip the warm donuts into the glaze and let the excess drip off. Place them on a wire rack to set.
