    Prepare the Onions

    Slice the onions thinly. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring frequently, until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.

    Once the onions are caramelized, add the beef broth to the pot. Season with salt and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for an additional 20 minutes.
