Crispy Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the sirloin steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Crispy Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 3

    Boil Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to pot.

  2. 4

    Mash Potatoes

Add butter, heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the potatoes. Mash until smooth.

  3. 5

    Mix in Cheese and Onions

Stir in cheddar cheese and green onions.

  4. 6

    Crisp the Top

Transfer the mashed potatoes to a baking dish, sprinkle with bread crumbs, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Vegetables Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Vegetables

Toss the mixed seasonal vegetables with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 8

    Cook Vegetables

Sauté in a skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes or until tender-crisp.
