Method
Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Tuna
Heat a skillet over high heat. Season the yellowfin tuna with salt and pepper. Sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side, depending on thickness, until a crust forms but the inside remains rare. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Mango and Avocado
While the tuna is resting, peel and dice the mango and avocado into bite-sized pieces.
- 3
Chop the Cilantro
Rinse the cilantro, pat it dry, and chop roughly.
- 4
Prepare the Gyoza Strips
If using pre-made crispy gyoza strips, simply set aside. If making from scratch, fry gyoza wrappers in hot oil until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
- 5
Assemble the Salad
In a large bowl, combine the diced mango, avocado, chopped cilantro, and peanuts. Slice the seared tuna into thin strips and add it to the bowl. Toss gently to combine.
- 6
Top with Gyoza Strips
Sprinkle the crispy gyoza strips on top of the salad for added crunch.
Dressing Preparation
- 7
Make the Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together the fresh ginger, soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil, and honey. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- 8
Drizzle and Serve
Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving. Toss gently to coat all ingredients with the dressing.
