Ribeye Steak

Garlic Butter

Method

Preparing the Ribeye Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season the ribeye steak on both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Making Garlic Butter

  1. 4

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley until well combined.

  2. 5

    Top the Steak

Once the steak has rested, top it with the garlic butter before serving.

Preparing the Peppercorn Sauce

  1. 6

    Sauté Shallots

In the same skillet used for the steak, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add minced shallots and sauté until translucent.

  2. 7

    Add Peppercorns

Stir in the crushed black peppercorns and cook for another minute.

  3. 8

    Deglaze with Wine

Pour in the red wine and scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Let it simmer until reduced by half.

  4. 9

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the heavy cream, simmer for a few more minutes until thickened, and season with salt if needed.

Making Crispy Mashed Potatoes

  1. 10

    Boil the Potatoes

In a large pot, boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 11

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper, then mash until smooth.

  3. 12

    Crisp the Potatoes

Spread the mashed potatoes onto a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until crispy and golden.

  4. 13

    Add Cheese and Onions

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions before serving.

Preparing Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 14

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the seasonal vegetables, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
