Method
Crispy Tofu
- 1
Prepare Tofu
Press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 15 minutes.
- 2
Cut Tofu
Once pressed, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- 3
Coat Tofu
In a bowl, mix cornstarch, gochugaru, and soy sauce until well combined. Toss the tofu cubes in this mixture until evenly coated.
- 4
Fry Tofu
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 15-20 minutes.
Crispy Wontons
- 5
Heat Oil
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- 6
Fry Wontons
Carefully add wonton wrappers to the hot oil, frying them until they are golden and crispy, about 1-2 minutes per side.
- 7
Drain Wontons
Remove wontons from oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Green Papaya Slaw
- 8
Mix Vegetables
In a large bowl, combine shredded green papaya and carrot.
- 9
Make Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, fish sauce, and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
- 10
Combine Slaw
Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss to combine. Set aside to marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Chili Crisp
- 11
Prepare Chili Crisp
Serve chili crisp in a small bowl for drizzling over the bowl.
Carrot Miso Dressing
- 12
Blend Dressing
In a blender, combine miso paste, grated carrot, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and water. Blend until smooth.
Coconut Jasmine Rice
- 13
Rinse Rice
Rinse jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- 14
Cook Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine rinsed rice, coconut milk, water, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- 15
Simmer Rice
Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
