Prepare the boiling water
In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

Add the seasoning
Once the water is boiling, add 1 cup of Old Bay seasoning to the pot and stir well to combine.

Add the shrimp
Carefully add 2 pounds of large shrimp to the boiling water. Ensure the shrimp are fully submerged.

Cook the shrimp
Boil the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook.

Drain and cool
Remove the pot from heat and strain the shrimp in a colander. Rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Serving

Serve the shrimp
Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter. Serve hot or cold with lemon wedges on the side.
