Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Wash the corn on the cob and cut each ear in half. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and devein if necessary. Cut the potatoes into quarters, leaving the skin on. Slice the sausage into 1-inch pieces.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Set Up the Steamer

Fill a large pot with about 2 inches of water. Place a steamer basket inside the pot and bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 3

    Add Potatoes

Once the water is boiling, add the quartered potatoes to the steamer basket. Cover and steam for about 10 minutes.

  3. 4

    Add Corn and Sausage

After 10 minutes, add the corn halves and sausage pieces to the basket. Cover and steam for another 5 minutes.

  4. 5

    Add Seafood

Next, add the snow crab clusters and shrimp to the steamer basket. Sprinkle Old Bay seasoning over the top. Cover and steam for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque, and the crab is heated through.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Steampot

Carefully remove the steamer basket from the pot, allowing any excess water to drain. Transfer the seafood, sausage, corn, and potatoes to a large serving platter.

  2. 7

    Season and Serve

Sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the seafood.
