Seasonal Vegetables

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the top sirloin steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to enhance flavor.

  2. 2

    Make Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic (from 4 cloves) until well combined. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. In the last minute of cooking, add the garlic butter on top of the steak to melt.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Preparing the Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.

  2. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add milk, butter, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Preparing the Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 7

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and cut the carrots and green beans into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 8

    Sauté the Vegetables

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the carrots and green beans, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp.

Serving the Dish

  1. 9

    Plate the Meal

Slice the rested top sirloin steak and serve alongside a generous scoop of mashed potatoes and the sautéed seasonal vegetables.

  2. 10

    Enjoy

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Joe’s Top Sirloin with garlic butter!
