Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Season the Ground Angus Chuck

In a bowl, combine the ground Angus chuck, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Prepare Toppings and Assemble

  1. 6

    Chop the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion, and rinse the lettuce.

  2. 7

    Toast the Buns (optional)

If desired, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer with lettuce, the cooked cheeseburger patty, tomato slices, onion, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
