Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, ground turmeric, salt, and black pepper. This will be your marinade for the chicken.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Cut the chicken breast into thin strips and add them to the bowl with the marinade. Ensure that all pieces are coated well. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 24 hours for better flavor.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chicken

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken strips. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Sauce

In a separate bowl, combine the plain yogurt and lemon juice. Mix well to create a tangy yogurt sauce that will complement the shawarma.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Shawarma

Warm the naan bread slightly, either in the oven or on a skillet. On each piece of naan, add a layer of shredded lettuce, followed by the cooked chicken strips. Top with pickles and drizzle with garlic sauce. Roll up the naan to enclose the filling.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the chicken shawarma wraps immediately, with extra garlic sauce on the side if desired.
