Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Stir well to mix.

  2. 2

    Add Wet Ingredients

Slowly add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Filling

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small portions (about the size of a golf ball).

  2. 6

    Stuff the Dough

Flatten each portion of dough and place a small amount of either pepperoni slices or shredded mozzarella cheese in the center. Pinch the dough around the filling to seal.

Breading and Cooking

  1. 7

    Prepare Breading

In a shallow dish, mix the rice flour with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Roll each stuffed dough ball in the rice flour mixture until well coated.

  2. 8

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat oil over medium heat for frying.

  3. 9

    Fry the Pizza Balls

Fry the breaded pizza balls in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes per side. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 10

    Serve

Serve the pizza balls warm with a side of marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
