Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring water to a boil over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.
- 2
Cook Pasta
Once the water is boiling, add 12 oz of pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- 3
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Reserve some pasta water for later use.
Preparing Vegetables
- 4
Chop Vegetables
While the pasta is cooking, wash and chop the bell pepper, zucchini, carrot, cherry tomatoes, and broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
Making the Sauce
- 5
Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- 6
Add Vegetables
Add the chopped vegetables to the skillet and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
- 7
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Toss gently to combine.
- 8
Season
Add 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 1 tsp of black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of chopped basil. Toss everything together, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if the mixture seems dry.
Serving
- 9
Plate and Serve
Serve the pasta primavera hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
