Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add salt to the water.

  2. 2

    Cook Linguine

Add the linguine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente (usually about 8-10 minutes).

  3. 3

    Drain

Once cooked, reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the linguine and set aside.

Preparing Clam Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 5

    Add Clams

Add the fresh clams and red pepper flakes to the skillet, stirring to combine.

  3. 6

    Deglaze with Wine

Pour in the white wine, increase the heat to medium-high, and cover the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the clams open.

  4. 7

    Combine with Pasta

Once the clams are opened, add the cooked linguine directly to the skillet. Toss gently to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.

  5. 8

    Season and Garnish

Season with black pepper and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
