Method

Crab Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chopped green onion, Old Bay seasoning, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Be careful not to break the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Once combined, shape the mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. You should get about 8 crab cakes from this mixture.

  3. 3

    Chill

Place the formed crab cakes on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.

  4. 4

    Cook the Crab Cakes

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes (in batches if necessary) and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Spicy Aioli Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt until smooth and well combined.

  2. 6

    Serve

Serve the crab cakes warm with a generous drizzle or side of spicy aioli.
