Method
Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4-5 quarts of salted water to a boil over high heat.
- 2
Cook Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes.
- 3
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Cooking Chicken
- 4
Prepare Chicken
Season both sides of the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 5
Cook Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and juices run clear.
- 6
Slice Chicken
Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips.
Making Alfredo Sauce
- 7
- 8
Add Cream
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 9
Incorporate Cheese
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- 10
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- 11
Garnish
Top the pasta with sliced chicken and chopped parsley before serving.
