Method
Preparing the Salad
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Pat dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess water. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Add Cherry Tomatoes and Parmesan
Halve the cherry tomatoes and add them to the bowl with the romaine lettuce. Grate the Parmesan cheese and sprinkle it over the salad.
Making the Caesar Dressing
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, anchovy paste, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.
- 4
Season the Dressing
Taste the dressing and season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to your liking. Set aside.
Making Croutons
- 5
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread into small cubes, approximately 1-inch in size.
- 6
Season and Bake Croutons
In a mixing bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden and crispy, tossing halfway through.
Assembling the Salad
- 7
Combine Salad and Dressing
Once the croutons are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the romaine lettuce and cherry tomatoes, then toss gently to combine.
- 8
Top with Croutons and Serve
Add the baked croutons on top of the salad. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
