Preparation of the Topping

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the medium tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Prepare the Basil
Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with tomatoes.

Mince the Garlic
Peel and mince the garlic cloves, then add to the tomato and basil mixture.

Mix the Topping
Drizzle the olive oil over the tomato mixture, add salt and black pepper, and gently stir until combined. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
Toasting the Bread

Slice the Baguette
Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Top the Bread
Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven and let them cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously over each slice.

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and enjoy immediately while the bread is still warm.
