Preparing Takoyaki Batter

Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and soy sauce. Whisk together until well combined.

Fill the Molds
Pour the batter into each mold, filling them about 1/2 full. Add a piece of diced octopus, some tempura scraps, and a sprinkle of green onions to each mold.

Cook the Takoyaki
Allow the takoyaki to cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges begin to brown. Use a skewer or chopstick to gently turn each ball 90 degrees to create a round shape.

Finish Cooking
Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes, turning frequently until the takoyaki is golden brown and crispy on the outside. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Serving Takoyaki

Add Toppings
Drizzle the cooked takoyaki with kewpie mayonnaise and okonomiyaki sauce. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and top with smoked bonito flakes.

Serve the takoyaki hot with toothpicks for easy eating.
