Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the dough

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Wrap in plastic and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the filling

In a bowl, mix the ground pork, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Assembling Gyoza

  1. 3

    Shape the gyoza

Divide the rested dough into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle (about 3 inches in diameter). Place 1-2 teaspoons of the filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape, pinching the edges to seal tightly. You can pleat the edges for a decorative look.

Cooking Gyoza

  1. 4

    Cook the gyoza

Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the gyoza in the skillet, flat side down. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown. Carefully add 1 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Allow the gyoza to steam for about 5-7 minutes until the water evaporates and the gyoza are cooked through.
