Citrus-Agave Base
Infused Tequila
Garnish & Finish
Method
Infused Tequila (quick method)
- 1
Macerate
In a small jar or glass container combine the tequila, cucumber slices, mint leaves (lightly torn to release aroma) and the orange peel. Press gently with a spoon to bruise the cucumber and mint. Let sit at room temperature for 10–20 minutes for a quick infusion. For a stronger infusion, refrigerate for 1–4 hours.
- 2
After infusion time, strain the tequila through a fine mesh strainer (or cheesecloth) into a measuring vessel, discarding solids. Reserve infused tequila and discard solids.
Mixing the Cocktail
- 3
If you prefer a salted rim: run a lime wedge around the glass rim and dip into coarse salt. Tap off excess.
- 4
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 3/4 full). Add the strained infused tequila (2 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), fresh orange juice (1/2 oz) and agave syrup (1/2 oz).
- 5
Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy from citrus.
- 6
Double strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice (or serve straight up in a chilled coupe if preferred).
Garnish & Serve
- 7
Garnish with a lime wheel and a cucumber ribbon or slice tucked into the rim. Slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and place on top.
- 8
Serve immediately. Optional: offer extra agave on the side for guests who prefer a touch sweeter.
