Method
Cocktail
- 1
Prepare espresso
If using hot espresso, brew 1 oz of very fresh espresso and allow it to cool slightly (about 1–2 minutes). If you prefer a cold variation, use 1 oz of cold-brew concentrate or chilled espresso.
- 2
Combine ingredients
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Pour in 2 oz Licor 43, 1 oz cooled espresso (or cold-brew), and 1 oz cold whole milk or half-and-half.
- 3
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds. The goal is to chill the mixture thoroughly and create a lightly frothy texture from the milk and espresso.
- 4
Strain and serve
Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or old-fashioned glass over a few fresh ice cubes (or serve neat without ice if you prefer). Use a fine mesh strainer to remove any tiny ice shards or espresso grounds.
Garnish
- 5
Express the orange twist over the drink by holding the twist skin-side down and giving it a quick squeeze to release oils onto the surface. Rim the glass lightly with the twist and drop it in.
- 6
Float 2–3 whole coffee beans on the surface for aroma and presentation.
