Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

  1. 1

    Chill and (optional) rinse

Place a coupe or Nick & Nora glass in the freezer for several minutes to chill. If using an absinthe or Chartreuse rinse, pour approximately 0.1 oz into the chilled glass, swirl to coat the inside, then discard excess (or leave as a thin rinse).

Mix Cocktail

  1. 2

Add the Green Chartreuse (1 oz), dry vermouth (0.5 oz), fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz), simple syrup (0.25 oz), and 2 dashes of orange bitters to a cocktail shaker.

  2. 3

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup or enough to nearly fill) and secure the lid.

  3. 4

Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted.

  4. 5

Double-strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer (or large-holed strainer) into the prepared chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass to remove small ice shards for a silky texture.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 6

Express a lemon twist over the surface of the cocktail to release oils, wipe the rim with the twist and drop it into the drink or rest it on the rim.

  2. 7

    Serve immediately. Enjoy responsibly.
