Cocktail
Garnish & Finish
Method
Prepare Glass & Garnish
- 1
Chill glass
Place a coupe or chilled cocktail glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes or fill it with ice water while you mix the drink to chill it quickly.
- 2
Using a vegetable peeler or Microplane, shave about 5 g of dark chocolate into thin curls or shavings and set aside. Prepare whipped cream (store-bought or freshly whipped) and keep ready.
Mix Cocktail
- 3
Fill a cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
- 4
Add 1 oz white crème de cacao, 1 oz green crème de menthe, 1 oz heavy cream, and 0.5 oz vanilla vodka (if using) to the shaker.
- 5
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and the mixture is well emulsified and slightly frothy.
- 6
Dump the ice or water from the chilled glass and double strain the cocktail from the shaker into the chilled coupe or cocktail glass to remove small ice chips for a silky texture.
Finish & Serve
- 7
Gently dollop or pipe about 2 tablespoons of whipped cream on top of the cocktail.
- 8
Sprinkle the reserved dark chocolate shavings over the whipped cream. Add a mint sprig for garnish if desired.
- 9
Serve immediately with a short spoon or straw. Sip and enjoy the boozy mint-chocolate flavor profile.
