Method
Preparation of Coffee
Brew Coffee
Brew 1 cup of strong coffee and allow it to cool. If using coffee liqueur, stir it into the cooled coffee.
Mascarpone Mixture
Prepare Mascarpone Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Whip Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Assembly
Layer the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture and layer them in a rectangular dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
Repeat Layering
Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for the best flavor.
Garnishing
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
