For the Grilled Whitefish

For Serving

Method

Preparing the Tartar Sauce

1

Mix Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, dill pickle relish, lemon juice, capers (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully blended. Set aside in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the fish.

Preparing the Grilled Whitefish

2

Marinate the Fish

In a shallow dish, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the whitefish fillets and coat them well with the marinade. Let the fish marinate for about 15 minutes.

3

Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or broiler to medium-high heat.

4

Grill the Fish

Place the marinated whitefish fillets on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

5

Toast the Buns

While the fish is grilling, place the Brioche buns cut-side down on the grill or broiler. Toast until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

Assembling the Sandwich

6

Build the Sandwich

Once the fish is cooked, place a fillet on the bottom half of each toasted Brioche bun. If desired, add a slice of American cheese on top of the hot fish to melt slightly. Spread a generous amount of tartar sauce on the top half of the bun.

7

Complete the Sandwich

Close the sandwich with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately with a lemon wedge on the side.
