Salmon

Honey Teriyaki Sauce

Method

Preparation of Salmon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. While the grill is heating, brush the Alaskan salmon fillets with olive oil on both sides. Season them generously with salt and black pepper.

Making the Honey Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 2

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Stir well to combine.

  2. 3

    Thicken the Sauce

In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Bring the saucepan mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Gradually whisk in the cornstarch slurry until the sauce thickens, which should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Grilling the Salmon

  1. 4

    Grill the Salmon

Once the grill is ready, place the seasoned salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on the first side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. During the last few minutes of cooking, brush the honey teriyaki sauce on top of the salmon.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve the Salmon

Remove the grilled salmon from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve hot with additional honey teriyaki sauce drizzled on top or on the side.
