Method
Taco Filling Preparation
- 1
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally to break it up, for about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- 3
Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet with the beef. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- 4
Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens.
Calzone Assembly
- 5
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 6
On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large circle about ¼ inch thick.
- 7
On one half of the dough, layer the cooked taco filling, followed by the cheddar jack cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and crushed nacho chips.
- 8
Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative touch.
- 9
Transfer the calzone to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 10
Cut a few slits in the top of the calzone to allow steam to escape.
- 11
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- 12
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
