Make the Patty

Mix Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the ground beef (or plant-based meat), breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the Patty
Shape the mixture into a patty about the same size as the ciabatta loaf (around 1 inch thick).

Assemble the Ciabatta Melt

Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of the toasted ciabatta, place the cooked patty, then top with the sautéed mushrooms and Swiss cheese slices.

Melt the Cheese
Cover the melt with the top half of the ciabatta loaf and return to the skillet. Cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Serve
Remove from heat, cut in half if desired, and serve hot.
