Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until the spices are evenly distributed, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, let the coals burn down until they are covered with gray ash.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare Veggies

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and onion into rounds.

  2. 6

    Assemble Burger

Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1 minute until lightly browned. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, tomato slices, onion rings, and any condiments like ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
