Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined; do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Cheeseburgers

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Add the Toppings

Place a cooked patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top each patty with a lettuce leaf and a few slices of tomato. Place the top half of the bun on top to complete the burger.
