Method

Preparation of Seafood

  1. 1

    Cut the Fish

Cut the fresh white fish into small bite-sized cubes and place them in a glass or ceramic bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Shrimp

Blanch the shrimp in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink. Remove and chop the shrimp into smaller pieces. Add them to the bowl with the fish.

Citrus Marinade

  1. 3

    Mix Citrus Juices

In a separate bowl, combine the fresh lime juice and fresh lemon juice. Pour this mixture over the seafood in the bowl.

  2. 4

    Marinate

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes to let the seafood marinate and 'cook' in the citrus juice.

Vegetables and Seasoning

  1. 5

    Prepare Vegetables

While the seafood is marinating, thinly slice the red onion, dice the cucumber and tomato, and finely chop the jalapeño.

  2. 6

    Combine with Seafood

Once the seafood has marinated, add the prepared vegetables (red onion, cucumber, tomato, jalapeño) and the chopped cilantro to the bowl.

  3. 7

    Season the Ceviche

Season the ceviche with salt, black pepper, and drizzle the olive oil over the top. Gently toss to combine all ingredients.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Ceviche

Serve the ceviche chilled, either in small bowls or on a platter. Garnish with additional cilantro if desired.

  2. 9

    Enjoy

This ceviche is best enjoyed fresh and can be served with tortilla chips or on its own.
