For the Filet

Method

Preparing the Filet

  1. 1

    Season the Filet

Rub each filet mignon with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Filet

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the seasoned filets. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Butter and Herbs

In the last minute of cooking, add butter and a sprig of fresh rosemary to the skillet, spooning the melted butter over the filets for added flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Filet

Remove the filets from the skillet and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before serving.

Preparing the Jumbo Fried Shrimp

  1. 5

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place flour in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second bowl, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in the third bowl.

  2. 6

    Bread the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp first in the flour, shaking off excess, then in the beaten eggs, and finally in the panko breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.

  3. 7

    Heat Oil for Frying

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the fried shrimp hot alongside the filet mignon for a delicious surf & turf meal.
