Method
Preparing the Sirloin
- 1
Season the Sirloin
Sprinkle the sirloin steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper evenly on both sides.
- 2
Cook the Sirloin
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned sirloin and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Preparing the Fried Catfish
- 3
Prepare the Breading
In a shallow bowl, combine the cornmeal and all-purpose flour. Mix well.
- 4
Dip in Buttermilk
In another bowl, pour buttermilk and dip the catfish fillet into the buttermilk, ensuring it is fully coated.
- 5
Coat with Breading
Take the buttermilk-coated catfish and dredge it in the cornmeal and flour mixture, pressing down to adhere the breading.
- 6
Heat Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 7
Fry the Catfish
Carefully place the coated catfish fillet into the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
