Chicken Strips

Honey Glaze

Method

Preparing Chicken Strips

  1. 1

    Slice Chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into strips about 1 inch wide.

  2. 2

    Marinate

In a bowl, combine the chicken strips with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight.

  3. 3

    Prepare Coating

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Coat Chicken

Remove the chicken strips from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.

  6. 6

    Fry Chicken

Carefully place the coated chicken strips into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  7. 7

    Drain

Remove fried chicken strips from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Making Honey Glaze

  1. 8

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, butter, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic.

  2. 9

    Cook Glaze

Stir the mixture continuously until the butter has melted and the glaze is smooth, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. 10

    Glaze Chicken

Once the chicken strips are fried and drained, drizzle the honey glaze over the chicken or toss the strips in the glaze to coat evenly.
