Method
Fried Pickles
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the sliced dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
- 3
Add Buttermilk
Gradually add the buttermilk to the dry mixture, stirring until you achieve a smooth batter.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- 6
Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the coated pickles into the hot oil. Fry in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried pickles with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
Ranch Dressing
- 8
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, buttermilk, salt, and black pepper.

Mix Well
Stir until all ingredients are well combined and the dressing is smooth.
- 10
Chill
Refrigerate the ranch dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
