Filet Mignon

Method

Preparing the Filet

  1. 1

    Season the Filet

Rub the filet mignon with olive oil, then season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Sear the Filet

Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned filet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. During the last minute of cooking, add the fresh rosemary to the skillet.

  3. 3

    Rest the Filet

Remove the filet from the skillet and let it rest on a plate for about 5 minutes.

Preparing the Lobster Tail

  1. 4

    Prepare the Lobster

Use kitchen scissors to cut down the top shell of the lobster tail, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pull the meat out of the shell and place it on top.

  2. 5

    Season the Lobster

In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, lemon juice, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Brush this mixture generously over the lobster meat.

  3. 6

    Broil the Lobster

Preheat the broiler in your oven. Place the lobster tail on a baking sheet and broil for about 8-10 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and cooked through.

Final Assembly

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, place the rested filet mignon alongside the broiled lobster tail. Drizzle any remaining butter mixture from the lobster over the filet for added flavor.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately with your choice of sides, such as asparagus or mashed potatoes.
