Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Grill the Patties

Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 5

    Cook the Bologna

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the hickory smoked bologna slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side until heated through and slightly crispy.

  2. 6

    Slice the Onion

While the bologna is cooking, slice the medium onion into thin rings.

  3. 7

    Prepare the Pickles

Slice the pickles into rounds if not already sliced.

Assemble the Bolo Burger

  1. 8

    Toast the Buns

Optionally, toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 9

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a grilled burger patty, top with 1-2 slices of the cooked bologna, a handful of pickles, a few onion rings, and drizzle with BBQ sauce.

  3. 10

    Finish and Serve

Place the top half of the bun over the toppings and serve immediately with additional BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
