Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the shrimp

In a large bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well and let sit for about 10 minutes to marinate.

  2. 2

    Set up the breading station

In one shallow dish, add the all-purpose flour. In a second shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a third shallow dish, combine the cornmeal with a pinch of salt.

  3. 3

    Bread the shrimp

Dredge each shrimp in the flour, shaking off the excess. Dip into the egg mixture, then coat with the cornmeal. Set aside on a plate.

  4. 4

    Pan fry the shrimp

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded shrimp in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 5

    Drain and serve

Remove the shrimp from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with cocktail sauce or drawn butter on the side.
