Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Brisket
Start by rinsing the turkey brisket under cold water and patting it dry with paper towels. Trim any excess fat.
- 2
Mix the Rub
In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
- 3
Season the Brisket
Rub the spice mixture all over the turkey brisket, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
Marinating
- 4
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, rosemary, and thyme until well combined.
- 5
Marinate the Brisket
Place the seasoned brisket in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag, ensuring the marinade fully coats the brisket. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
Cooking
- 6
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- 7
Prepare for Roasting
Remove the brisket from the marinade and allow excess marinade to drip off. Place it in a roasting pan.
- 8
Add Liquid
Pour chicken broth and water into the bottom of the roasting pan. This will help keep the brisket moist while cooking.
- 9
Roast the Brisket
Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Roast for about 3 to 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 10
Rest and Slice
Once done, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
