Pork Marinade

Serving

Method

Preparing the Pork

  1. 1

    Mix the Marinade

In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to create a dry rub.

  2. 2

    Apply the Rub

Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, making sure to cover it evenly. Wrap the pork in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight for best results.

Cooking the Pork

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 4

    Prepare the Cooking Liquid

In a mixing bowl, combine apple cider vinegar and water. Pour this mixture into the bottom of a roasting pan.

  3. 5

    Roast the Pork

Place the pork shoulder in the roasting pan, fat side up. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for about 6 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Finishing Touches

  1. 6

    Shred the Pork

Once the pork is done cooking, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes. After resting, use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the pulled pork on burger buns topped with coleslaw and BBQ sauce. Enjoy your delicious pulled pork!
