Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Meatball Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

In a skillet over medium heat, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Tomato Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes, then add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer.

  3. 6

    Combine Meatballs with Sauce

Add the browned meatballs back to the skillet with the sauce. Cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.

Pasta and Garlic Bread Preparation

  1. 7

    Cook the Fettuccini

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 8

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix minced garlic with melted butter. Brush the garlic butter on the slices of bread.

  3. 9

    Toast the Garlic Bread

Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.

  4. 10

    Serve

Serve the fettuccini topped with meatballs and sauce, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, and enjoy with garlic bread on the side.
