Ribs

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under the membrane at one end and pulling it off with your hand. This helps the ribs become more tender.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar. Rub this spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.

  3. 3

    Add Liquid Smoke

Drizzle the liquid smoke over the seasoned ribs, ensuring an even coating.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Make sure to add your choice of wood chips for smoking.

  2. 5

    Smoke the Ribs

Place the ribs in the smoker bone side down. Smoke for approximately 4 to 5 hours, or until the meat is tender and has pulled back from the bone.

  3. 6

    Glaze with BBQ Sauce

During the last 30 minutes of smoking, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce on both sides. This will create a flavorful glaze.

Serving

  1. 7

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the ribs from the smoker and let them rest for about 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
