Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  3. 3

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Add Cheddar Cheese

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1.5 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

  5. 5

    Layer the Potatoes

In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes evenly on the bottom. Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes.

  6. 6

    Repeat Layers

Add the remaining potato slices on top, followed by the rest of the cheese sauce.

  7. 7

    Add Breadcrumbs

Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the top layer of cheese sauce.

  8. 8

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.

  9. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
